Someone has taken up residence

(112,141 posts)You are pwned. However, you might want to wake up and play with the kitteh. He (or is it she) is handsome.

(3,747 posts)Someone else, anyways

(112,141 posts)It's the "no more morsels" plan and daily training on the treadmill.
The kitteh condo looks like provides some fun for the felines. The Siamese kitten that I have is at six months and sleeping on the air mattress. For some reason she peed on the camping bag that I use on top for extra comfort twice yesterday. It won't be long before she goes into heat though.
I'm glad that you came through it unscarred. If I posted a photo of my thighs and calves you would see that I wasn't as lucky.

(3,747 posts)She sneaks in and eats his food. I've cut her intake down, but there's no way to really avoid it. And he won't eat his food unless it's left out so he can snack throughout the day. It's not really avoidable without my roommate and I spending money we don't have on a better setup.
Thankfully, she gets lots of daily exercise. She does sprints after her rubber chickens after their flung, and endurance exercises while chasing her "bird". She's definitely not overweight yet.
She's only going to be with me until December at the latest (I've just been taking care of her for the past year), when we'll find her a more permanent home. I haven't worried about it too much because of that. They can adjust her diet a little more easily.
The big guy is actually pretty healthy, he just looks fat. But it's all chunky muscle and fur. He comes from the wild outdoors of Alaska and did lots of hunting up there. He's in pretty amazing shape for his age, actually. My roommate's done a great job taking care of him. Ze's a good cat owner.
And yeah--you should see my arm after a long day of play. She keeps her claws sharper than any cat I've known. Everytime she enters my room (or every time someone else enters) she runs over to scratch on her post. I just built them a new cardboard scratching box, and it looks like it's starting to get used regularly by both. Also, sometimes my face is used as a punching bag while I'm sleeping.
Thankfully no real issues with litterbox stuff. They're both kinda territorial, but if we keep clothes and fabric off the ground, it's not a problem. And it's only the big guy, never her.

(34,106 posts)Happens to me a lot with 4 of them inside but the worst of the lot looks exactly like yours in the picture. He is an American Bobtail but has exactly the same coloring. Love the eyes. I do spend a lot of time being squished and used as a bed and I love it as it seems you do too. What a beautiful kitty.

You have four? I am jealous

(34,106 posts)they get dumped and find me. I am a big sucker. I have one at the back door now that will not, after a year, let me touch him but he comes inside a room the other cats can't get into to eat 2 times or more a day. All cats I managed to tame down, one who was at my barn for 6 years and would not come near me but ate what I left for him, or were rescued. I love my kitties but it gets expensive. Can't take it with you so they and all the other animals out here get it. I could not imagine living without them.

(40,656 posts)My spike it two years old, a spitfire with a black kitteh partner in crime and a TERRIBLE SOUL KILLING crush on my six year old dachshund, Timmy. That doesn't count a disdainful chihuahua, Buddy.
Have fun. What lovely fur babies.

(40,656 posts)but before that my tuxedo cat, Spike walked up on my porch and I got another kitten, a black female named Queen. They get along beautifully but for months, Spike has preened around Timmy, laying next to him, petting him. He loves Tim so much it hurts. Tim looks at me with big long suffering eyes because before she got the hots for him, Spike swatted his nose when he came to sniff her for the first time. Its a sort of evolving love.
She is on fire and he is sorta WTF right now. I expect cats to lay down with dogs eventually. Buddy on the other hand dislikes both the cats, though there is no conflict.
How to get cats and dogs to get along 101...
Hold the cat in your lap and put the dog beside you. stare at the dog as you pet the cat. They will eventually turn over and look away. That is capitulation and agreement that the cat is yours, not their chew toy. You may have to do it a moment or two again but only once did it take the method to make peace among all the heathens in my house.
I love aminals.

(3,275 posts)You don't need to move. You have everything you need right there. You have a cat, a bed and ... um, well, that's all you need. That cat is really cute.
