https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gravitas
Gravitas was one of the Roman virtues,[1] along with pietas, dignitas and virtus. It may be translated variously as weight, seriousness and dignity, also importance, and connotes a certain substance or depth of personality.
Having salt-and-pepper colored hair and a well-trimmed beard may help, but is not a requirement.

(66,319 posts)He basically is gravitas. He also possessed the treasured Roman virtues of dignitas and auctoritas. And, like Roman men of ancient times, he liked a good dirty joke.

Sorry for going off topic but it makes him look dirty, despite his well-kept beard.

And what is that guy's name who now does the Ram commercials? Deep voice, was in Mask with Cher...always plays a biker type character. Dadgummit, why can I not remember his name??!!

Bass voices don't hurt. But there are other attributes. Walter Cronkite was a baritone, but I think he qualifies.

(8,175 posts)And I'll add Patrick Swayze too. He was a very kind, gentle, and loyal man in real life. He didn't fame go to his head. I'm not sure gravitas is the right word for him, but I think he was a lovely man and I admired him a lot.
Also it was a real delight watching him dance.
Oh, and he's a horse person.
