(18,837 posts)..."short lived" because, after 15 weeks of shows, I was barely getting listener feedback and had no idea if 3 or 300 people were listening, so I said "thanks for the memories" and went back to making Mix CDs for myself.
But while I had it, Jack Bruce passed away. I did an "all Jack" show and opened with Mountain's "Theme" and closed with Jack's own solo version from "Songs For a Tailor."
Leslie also did an album with Jack called "Theme," which...of course...included yet another version of the song.

With a name like EL34x4, you'd be correct to assume I dig guitar amplifiers.
And I do. Marshall Plexis, specifically.
These were the amplifiers Leslie West wanted. Everyone wanted Marshall Plexis at the time. Jim couldn't make enough of them.
West ordered some. They didn't arrive on time. Sunn was kind enough to provide West with some of their thunderously loud Coliseum P.A. heads. These were public address amps, not made for guitars. Leslie West was not happy.
But the show must go on.
So he plugged that student guitar, a P90-powered Gibson Les Paul Jr. into that Sunn Amplifier and recorded the riff that would make him famous.
Leslie West would continue using Sunn Coliseum P.A. heads throughout his career.
