When I was a tanker, we didn't couch the expression in family-friendly language, even though use of the phonetic alphabet was a daily occurrence.

We would just say: "What the fuck, over?"

It was the 'over' that made it high art...

but am not creative. Listening + watching to Rick Steves, checking michigan occasionally, and wondering about the rest of the week.

Was a pretty good movie, and I'm more confirmed than ever: NO MORE WAR!

than just about anyone in politics, President Obama excepted.

And I really like that he's a staunch, die-hard liberal...

I've been trying to convince Mrs. Aristus to go for ages. She's too terrified of the 8-10-hour plane ride.

Someday...

I've flown over a number of times, but sailed home after my junior year of college. TRY IT!

But at some point in the trip, we'd have to fly (to point of embarkation, flying home after a one-way cruise, etc.)

I'm sure at some point, we'll have the time to sail a round trip from the East Coast to a European port. But probably not until we retire.

Anyway, I tell her that once we're in Europe, we can get pretty near anywhere we want to by train. (We both love train travel, so that would be fun...)

I've been to Europe a number of times, from jr. high to daughter's college year, and only ONCE flew anywhere while 'over there.' Most via trains, and some rental cars.
