Silk Rumored For Spider-Man: Homecoming Played By Tiffany Espensen

While everybody is going bonkers over the potential casting of Zendaya in Spider-Man: Homecoming, a new rumor/speculation points to Silk being in the film.

According to a casting call sheet, 17-year-old Tiffany Espensen is playing a character named Cindy in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Silk in the Marvel Comics is named Cindy Moon.

The character was retconned into existence a couple of years ago by Dan Slott when it was said the same radioactive spider that gave Peter Parker his powers also bit a second person, Cindy Moon.

Silk has similar powers to Spider-Man but a greater Spider Sense (Silk Sense) and can shoot webs out of her fingertips.

As long as they can actually act though. As an adult those shows are hard to watch.

is going to be Mary Jane Watson, played by Zendaya.

I stopped collecting comics in the early 90s, so I have no idea of how Silk and Spider-Man relate in the comics, as I think Silk came along later. There could be a Spidey/Mary Jane/Silk love triangle?

There is no love triangle iirc since the comic "One More Day," which I absolutely hated.

Nothing wrong with more Spider-girls IMO.

She so very new and completely unknown though. It might seem like they're tying to muck with the Spiderman mythos just to shoe-in some diversity. I trust Marvel to do this right, but if Sony is behind Silk's introduction...oh hell.
