But I guess the rules change if you are the food.

I find it interesting that Orca culture considers humans off limits as a dinner entrée.

Is it because we taste bad? Is it because they know what nasty genocidal rat bastards we can be when we feel threatened? Is it because they recognize us as fellow intelligent beings sharing this planet?

Or perhaps in the Orca religion humans are simply not Kosher.

That's why sharks who mistake surfers for seals release them from their mouths once they get a taste. Unfortunately for the surfer, that is often too late, leaving massive bite wounds.

Orcas are probably smarter and have better eyesight and smell, so they rarely mistake humans for seals. But I still wouldn't get in the water with Orcas.
