I have no idea what he was sawing or why but, man, that was the worst two years of my life, or would have been, were it not for the joy of being a newlywed.

(53,339 posts)Only once in a while does the lawn guy come by my apartment with the leafblower to clear the 2nd floor walkway. The mowers come once a week.
The refuse guys come twice a week, but their truck won't fit in our narrow driveway so our building owner pays extra to have a guy walk all the way down the drive to grab the 2 dumpsters in the back and haul them all the way out front to the truck. One at a time. If I'm in the bedroom (overlooking the drive) those dumpster wheels are noisy, especially when they hit the speed bumps, and I notice. Otherwise, it's a stealth operation to me.
One of my friends here has a loud motorcycle and he usually drives in late at night. Two minutes of noise, and he's a friend. The chickens in the neighborhood are louder and longer.
This is all minor piddly shit and I have no complaints. Check back with me when I have jackhammers in the courtyard.
As I said, I count my blessings.
