Brother Voodoo Rumored To Appear In Doctor Strange Movie

Fans only have a few months left to go until Doctor Strange reaches theaters, leaving moviegoers more antsy than ever to see the Sorcerer Supreme hit the big screen. As the film’s release date grows closer, more rumors about the movie continue to be released, and now sources are saying a couple of cameos might be making their way into Doctor Strange. According to That Hashtag Show, it seems like Tina Minoru and Jericho Drumm (Brother Voodoo) could be appearing alongside Stephen Strange in some way.

Of course, Doctor Strange fans should recognize who Brother Voodoo is. The character is a long-standing Marvel character who uses Haitian voodoo magic and adopts his superhero alter-ego once his brother Daniel dies. In fact, the character has even taken up the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme in the past in the pages of Marvel Comics when Stephen Strange lost the title. Those fans, then, have been somewhat expecting this announcement. After all, Jericho’s brother was teased earlier this year through Doctor Strange's MCU-canon comic book, Doctor Strange Prelude.

The comic follows several Masters of Mystic Arts as they pursue an unknown woman who’s weaponized a mysterious magical tool. Featuring characters such as Wong (here also a Master of the Mystic Arts) and Kaecilius (the villain being played by Mads Mikkelsen), the comic also spotlights Daniel as a sorcerer alongside Tina Minoru. Obviously, Daniel is deceased in Marvel’s comics, so fans have been wondering whether Jericho would show up in Doctor Strange should his brother die in the film. So, if That Hashtag Show is correct, then fans can celebrate knowing they were right.

As for Tina Minoru’s involvement, her surname might also sound familiar to comic book fans. She is the mother of Nico Minoru, one of the main characters from Runaways. Written by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona, the comic follows Niko and her friends as they come to realize their parents are part of Pride, a secret society of super villains. With Tina allegedly appearing in the Doctor Strange, the film could introduce the character (and thus her family name) however briefly to audiences. After all, with Marvel Television having green-lit a Runaways TV series at Hulu, now would be a great time to familiarize fans with the teenage team of heroes.
