can you find the wildlife? (hint, horse is NOT looking at it)
==================================
does that help?

(90,758 posts)On the top rocks, with the scrub (maybe even a tree) behind, and the sky above. Straight line up from the ear cam.
Or not.
above right ear and below the left-hand agave stalk, but not on the horizon or top of all the rocks...

(55,003 posts)and ours stays a mile or so to the north of this location (where the loony neighbor can keep an eye on it)

(46,179 posts)On the ground at the side of the road, in front of the bush, on the outside edge of that right ear about an inch down?
I have several pictures with horse's ears in the foreground myself.

(53,339 posts)The pic is LOADED with Pokemon!
I couldn't see them if there were, all I have is an old clamshell slightly dumb phone.
LWolf
(46,179 posts)I'll loan you a horse.
Kali
(55,003 posts)but no, that is some detritus from the last time the wash ran (not a road, we are on sand)
Now I have to study the picture again.

(34,131 posts)In the bushes in the dip at the base of what look like big flower spikes.
I guess yours are shier than mine - mine walk right up to the house to eat out of the bird feeders even when I have the windows open and yell at them.
pinboy3niner
(53,339 posts)In the hollow or dark spot below the left agave. Hard to make out what it is, though. It could be anything from a coyote to a deer.
csziggy
(34,131 posts)I think it's a deer because of the shape of the ears and the way it holds it's head. Coyote ears don't stick out like that and are not as big in comparison to the head.

(53,339 posts)I even copied it to My Pictures so I could enlarge it, but that soon lost the resolution needed.
I may have to go with Kali's neighbor--it's a chupacabra!
And I think Kali misidentified those spikes. They are not agave.

(34,131 posts)I can't see any leaves from the plants though.
Agave americana in bloom in Portugal: The flower stalk may reach up to 8 m (26 ft) in height.

(53,339 posts)I'm used to seeing agave without the stalks, so I leaped to the wrong conclusion. My bad.
I can see that now.
yeah they are a bit more shy (mulies) now the javalina and skunks are a different story
Tom Kitten
(7,343 posts)definitely seeing tracks there...
"Beyond the unusual length of the gouger's legs, little is known about the appearance of this creature. Some say it's badger-like. Some say it's goat-like. One observer, a Harry S. Knight of Camp Wood, Arizona, has been quoted as saying: "A Sidehill Gouger is jest a burrowin' buffalo, sized down and growed crooked."
There have been reports of a Gouger sub-species found in the Appalachians that has fur only on the downward-sloping side of its body. The fur on its other side has been worn away by constant rubbing against the side of the hill. The skin of these creatures, being so highly polished and smooth, is sought after by handbag makers.

(36,247 posts)About 2:00 from the horse's right ear. His light-colored face matches the rocks behind him, the rest of his body is darker.

(23,586 posts)indicating where the critter is located. I have enlarged this photo and followed each direction that's been suggested to no avail.
Thanks
Btw, your horse looks beautiful, what we can see of him.

(53,339 posts)And no one can talk to a horse of course
That is, of course, unless the horse is the famous Mr. Ed.
Go right to the source and ask the horse
He'll give you the answer that you'll endorse.
He's always on a steady course.
Talk to Mr. Ed.
