Essentially, the move helps US corporate interests (which include regime change).

We the people are still travel banned, and everyday Cubans will see no benefits from the continuation of non existent US tourism.

I realize this is a very limited step. It's a step, however. It provides an opening that was not there before.

We've discussed the steps Obama could take before.

Also I don't see Cuba remaining on the terrorist list because you don't build an embassy in a country you consider a sponsor of terrorism. It's silly.

We have ended the century long capitalist and neocon intervention in the Middle East and supported self-determination. We are working productively with Iran. We are establishing diplomatic relations with Cuba now. We have relationships with multiple 'socialist' countries, China and Vietnam included.

Granted, Ambassadors Franco and Rogen have run into a bump in the road (who knew the Supreme Leader had no sense of humor! - maybe comedy about Muhammad next?).

The people are the best ambassadors. We need to end the Congressional embargo, and have personal unfettered relations with the Cuban people.

Based on their success in South Florida, what lies ahead for the people of Cuba and our future together? We could be great friends, and learn much from interacting with each other! We are a progressive nation and export freedoms and liberties like no one else if we have the opportunity.

We are not perfect, but democracy is the path forward and we need to share it.

try democracy - that would beat this oligarchy all to hell afaic.

I am happy we are reconnecting w/Cuba. Many here have ties. And I know they will open up the tourism - Cuba is bigger than Puerto Rico and that is a very popular vacation spot.
