And I've come to feel that Sgt. Pepper is highly overrated. An outstanding album, to be sure. But not their best. Not even their second best. This is, of course, merely one man's opinion, but I'd rate The Beatles best albums, in order, as follows:

Rubber Soul (US version)
Abbey Road
Revolver
Beatles '65 (US)
The White Album
Help!
A Hard Day's Night
Meet the Beatles
Sgt . Pepper

I know I'm gonna raise a lot of eyebrows. So be it. I was never a big Paul fan, John was The Beatles to me. And Sgt. Pepper is much too heavily Paul laden for my taste. I prefer music that rocks (John) to poppier stuff (Paul).
