I have never wanted to have to run electricity to a fountain outdoors, but this makes me think I would like to do it. Sigh.

But, with my own ponds, I snaked a heavy duty extension cord out the window to plug in my pond pumps. My cheap little cracker box of a house has no exterior outlets. And now I'm rethinking one of the pumps to get some spritz with a small basin to attract more birds.

I actually have outlet outside, but still think it would be a pain to have the cords running on the porch and out to the yard. And then there is the mowing, and forgetting that there is a cord. There is a reason when I went looking for an electric mower that I refused to look at corded mowers.
