So, yesterday I set out to revise the fountain in my 5-tub pond system. I got a nice spritz, but it wasn't pushing enough water back to tub 1 to keep the system working. I went back to a heavier flow. I still need more spritz to attract the birds, but I did get one brave hummer. I think I will install another small pump in one of the tubs that does nothing but recycle and spritz in that tub.

Then this morning the cats perked up at looked intently out the windows. Ms fox came for a visit.I'm sure she has kits stashed away somewhere, but I haven't seen them yet.

with the only purpose being to make a fine spray is a good idea. That way, everything works and the birds will still be happy.

But I do have to say that I wouldn't be surprised that you would get birds from all over no matter what you did with the tubs and fountains, since it looks really dry there. But you just do what you have to to make those birds feel right at home!

That hummer is quite a shot, with his mouth wide open---not something you see very often.
