My weekend entertainment

We have a loosely formed group here in the valley called The Left Bank. It consists of writers, painters, composers, dancers, musicians, photographers and anybody else with a talent to share. We get together once or twice a year, have a pot luck and do show and tell. Yesterday was the day. The highlight of the day was the Taiko ladies.

Three drummers, four drums. They designed and made their costumes.


Their husbands made the drums out of various sized wine barrels—it is the Napa Valley, after all.


The elder of the group played the chimey thingy.


And with a blur of hands and sticks, they were off and drumming.


And, a good time was had by all.
