The stuff around my attempt to photograph the blood moon turned out more interesting than my actual blood moon shot.

(149,534 posts)I like all your pictures!
There is a quiet, stark beauty to the Pigeon Point photos.
And your fuchsias are stunning! I love the soft focus and the colors!
The historical cars are great--the photos remind me of the ads from the time.
LOVE the windows!
The last photo is just stunning. The streaks are amazing!
Thanks for sharing.

(19,459 posts)I was pretty pleased with the sharpness of the photos at the car show. Until recently my BG levels were consistently hovering around 400+ (despite diet and exercise) and one of the results was shaky hands. I began taking insulin about 3 month ago, and my hands have gotten very steady again.
I am pleased that you like the windows. This house had no trim around the windows, just sheetrock returns. So, while remodeling this place I tore out the sheetrock returns and replaced them with wood casings; plus, I added some crown molding.
I used a 50mm prime lens for most of these, and it produced some nice bokeh for those fuchsia shots.

(20,886 posts)Why didn't you say hello?
I was the only other person there with a serious camera.
(I love that Sudebaker and its Airstream.)

(19,459 posts)I certainly would have introduced myself.
My daughter's car was on display right in front of that '49 Studebaker that was hooked up to the Airstream. It's a '59 Studebaker Lark, off-white paint, tan interior.
I took a photo of her standing next to it for the museum, and they used it for the posters announcing the event. I posted it a couple weeks ago then Self-deleted it because I hadn't asked if she would mind if I posted it. She said it would be fine, but now I need to remove/black out her license plate number before I put it up. Anywayyy...I was jazzed because it's the first time anyone has used one of my photos for anything positive.
My camera is only semi-serious. It's a prosumer Nikon D5100, but I was using a Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 G FX lens (works out to about 75mm on my crop-sensor) and it's a nice lens for the price.

(20,886 posts)I took a couple of pics of your daughter's car.
Sorry I missed you. I tend to have blinders on at an event like that. All I see are the cars. Had I known you were there, I probably still would have missed you. Unless you had four wheels and a nifty paint job.

(19,459 posts)I spent a lot of my time parked outside over the years and there wasn't a lot of attention paid to waxing, or ensuring that the top was up when it rained.
My daughter and son-in-law got there at the start but my wife and I didn't show up until about 1:00 pm.
My brother-in-law was there, too. He's a mechanic at the Vet's Home, but he has been restoring Studebakers for 40 years. He was hanging with Dean Karlsson, who had the bright red Studie convertible on the other side of my daughter's. He did most of the restoration on that car.
My wife's family are really into Studies; my brother-in-law owns 14 of them, my mother-in-law owns 3, and when my father-in-law passed he left one each to both of my daughters, and one to my wife and I.
Most of them are nicely restored, but I admit to being a bit lukewarm on the whole thing. I married into a family of fanatics.

(20,886 posts)It belonged to an uncle, and being a kid I was stuffed into the back seat. I think a buckboard would have been more comfortable. I swear the (very lightly) padded seat sat directly on the rear axel.

The last interior shot of the car is awesome!
