Beach walk this morning with Snowy

Too late to enter our contest on perspective--but this is one dedicated photographer!
He was out--in a full body wet suit--shooting the pier at sunrise and focused on getting
a wave in his foreground.

See? Fancy equipment.

The golden hour is my favorite time to be out with a camera.

It's also a good time to look for seashells and sea glass.

Snowy always comes with me--and she's mostly very patient letting me fuss with shots--which
does present a challenge because I'm holding her leash while shooting.

This particular beach is nothing like some of the Florida beaches for shelling, but occasionally I do
find an interesting shell

The ocean has been very calm--quite flat--since we've been here so not much has washed up.
I found better shells last summer when we were here and the ocean was really rough and windy.

That's a real Tequila Sunrise.

I remember how interesting it was to see the sun rise over the ocean, as we only get sunsets on the West Coast.

The perspective on the pier is nice.

7. This particular beach faces south, so the sun only rises over the ocean from fall to spring.

In the summer, sunrise happens on the other side (north) of the houses lining the oceanfront.

I am always turned around when I'm at this beach!

it's overcast and when it's clear, with the tide in and the tide out.
I don't think I've ever seen the tide quite so low before when I was
shooting. It really makes it look like the pier stretches out forever!

Why don't you go take a long walk on a short pier.
