A few favorites from my driving in Florida

I drove through Florida for the last four days, in a meandering way. I drove on roads through the center of the state mostly since I had the time and I don't like the fast highways much. I like to stop and look at things. In my earlier life there was never time for that.

Here I'm on a bridge somewhere north of Jacksonville (maybe), the bumper sticker is one I made in reverse so it reads right side up on my front glass, and keeps my spirits positive.

I'm a sucker for Spanish Moss.

And also for cows, cooling it under its shade. Note the bull on the right. I think I scared him.

I went to Lakeland, only to see the campus of Southern College. It has the largest amount of Frank Lloyd Wright buildings in the world.

I'll post more tomorrow when I'm rested. I have something unusual and special for you from SC.

getting to see the buildings was worth the detour!
FLW built over a mile of concrete topped walkways, called the esplanade, that connect the buildings so the students can traverse the campus without suffering the broiling heat.

going over that bridge... Nice to see you enjoying this beautiful Country...

I was working in Melbourne until last week and now I am in Jacksonville (and my dad just sold his home in Lakeland to move up to Vermont with me)... as you know, I tend to search out the wild places

my morning hiking trail every day, at the UNF Campus

I miss you.
I very much hope all will work out with moving your Dad in with you. How long are you in Jacksonville? I have to return home. But it will be a while. I'm here in the Keys living the life of Riley with my wonderful benefactors letting me stay for free. ( I think that means having a good time - must look it up)

the Dames Point Bridge, some folks where I work cross it every morning to get here. You should try the Buckman Bridge to the south of Jax (I-295) next time you are in area, the view is fantastic.

FL does have a lot of cows too. I work in an area that was called Bulls Bay, and we still have cows out here, they herd them right through the industrial complex sometimes...pretty cool.
