a new (non) insect photo (nightmare warning!)

I've been working nonstop for months to convert all of my fall semester classes to online, so today I needed a break. I have this beautiful vinegaroon I've been wanting to photograph for some time now. Meet my good buddy Mastigoproctus giganteus.

Most insects do when you get really close but the coloration and texture brings a feeling of rusted sheet metal and dystopia.

You do good work as a documentarian and the presentation is flawless. You make bugs look goooood.

The level of detail and the coloration are superb. I just noticed the tiny areas of contrasting colors--they are fascinating!

I'm glad you needed a break. It benefited all of us.

Thank you.

Between the quarantine and the insane amount of work prepping for fall semester, I just haven't been motivated to go out to take photos, so these specimen pics give me a break without having to organize much.
