Pawn Stars: Is Rebecca actually quite cruel

Been binge watching the show, was always a fan of Rebbecca, until this episode. The clip itself was one long shot, it wasnt edited, why the hell would she say it, the one way she did.

A guy had a first edition book of a author named Walden and Rebecca said "A book in this condition, and a first edition, which this book is, should go for at retail about 25K.

The guy said "whoooo"

Rick said "really?"

Rebecca then said

"Yes.. (long long long pause) but this is a first edition of a london printing not New York, its
only worth $100 dollars"

I thought it was disgusting the way she said it.

I know they have a show to do, but this was a real customer, what a let down.

I collect rare books. If you ever have rare books, take them to a dealer that only or mainly handles books...nothing against Rebecca from Pawn Stars but if you take a rare book to a pawn shop, you almost deserve to get ripped off.

I have two editions of Davy and the Goblin from the 1890s. One is a damaged 1st edition and the other is a pristine non-notable. The first is worth far less than the second.

Coincidentally, I know of no author named Walden that would be eminently collectable...but if the book is a London 1st printing of Walden by Henry David Thoreau, original publication, she's off by about $900.

but Rebecca is a rare book dealer and does not work for the pawnshop. Also, these videos are all set up ahead of time by the producers.
