YUMA, Ariz. (AP) — A Yuma man who was ejected from a frozen yogurt shop for not wearing a mask is facing charges for pulling out a gun in response.

Yuma County Sheriff’s officials say the incident happened around 6:15 p.m. Thursday when 64-year-old Steven Covington entered Tiki Hut Frozen Yogurt.

According to the staff, Covington was agitated when told to wear a face covering and gloves provided by the store. Covington then started dispensing frozen yogurt into his bare hands.

Yesterday, I watched as a dissatisfied customer made it her mission to go to Customer Service and for five minutes, tell them how "nasty" I was to her.

Some customers are ready for a fight. My job is to do my job. I don't respond when provoked except for a few more, "Yes, Sirs/Ma'ams" where necessary. Especially when their arms are marked from shoulder to fingertip with tattoos.

The really hard part of this situation is where they aren't necessarily out of control and you don't necessarily need to call a supervisor to take over. But you know you're in an unenviable situation.

Did Retail for 4+ decades and folks have gotten progressively worse. My theory is that it is based in economics and the inequality of those economics and the stress builds from there.

People have been angry for a long time and it has been simmering under the surface, bubbling up when the stress gets to be too much.

came on the scene. Now we simply have more access to cell phone camera videos of people acting out. Trump has not helped things one bit most certainly, but this is nothing new for those of us in the Retail or Service Sectors.

When you have a job, and paycheck on the line.

Side note - in my younger years I was the person who would step in or say something if someone was being shitty to someone else in public. Not even think twice.

Now, older and with a family, after decades of right wing charles bronsonish hero worship by right wing propoganda and just how tweaked out they have their masses now ... You just never know who is strapped and will pull a gun and end your life.

America is flat out fucked until collectively we recognize the cancer that is conservatism and openly repudiate it.

I was trying to think who was the first to have a big hit in that genre, and kept coming up with Rambo. I knew that wasn't it, though.

I just checked, Dirty Harry has a 1971 release date. It may have been the first. So the old man with the empty chair is the one to blame, after all. Well, him and the Dukes of Hazzard and their freakin' car.

I once posted about self-gratification in the shower and got alerted on.

I was inboxed that the post was alerted but not "pulled."

So don't mention self-gratification in your posts unless you don't have two alerts already.
