D.C. streak of hot weather hits historic territory, and the worst may be yet to come.

'A heat wave in Washington that has persisted for two weeks is moving higher and higher in the record books for its longevity.

The temperature in Washington hit 90 degrees on Thursday, the 14th straight day that has been at least that hot, a streak equaled or surpassed in just 10 other years in modern history.

Although the streak could end Friday — it might be a nail-biter — the future is full of more 90s and, possibly, a dose of triple-digit heat for the first time since 2016.

But it’s July!
It is, of course, true that July is supposed to be hot. We’ve reached the hottest time of the year by historical averages, a period from July 7 to July 22 in Washington.

July averages 15 days of at least 90 degrees each year.'>>>

I already feel like I’m inches away from heat exhaustion every night when I get home from work.
It’s so stinkin’ hot, I’ve stopped drinking coffee during the day, which is unheard of.
Yay.

September cooler in the low 80's in September, and 60ish nights.

Fever' and not the political status kind. In 1994 a streak of 90+ degree June days caused me to finally find a place with central air.

Wedding day was 98 degrees in August, the only time I could get off work. No A/C only a couple industrial fans at the church. But the reception site had air, wonderful people, great music and food- an evening blast.
