ICYMI...Council Bluffs had some militia types show up to protect the city from non-existent rioters.

With all the shit going on in the country, this little incident probably wasn't noticed outside of western IA.

Apparently rumors started to spread that hordes of rioters and looters and vandals (oh my) from Omaha were going to cross the river to Council Bluffs on Sunday. So a bunch of businesses boarded up their stores. Most places closed early. A curfew was declared and the Police started to gather to do whatever. Aaaaand about 15 armed douchebags decided they needed to help out.

This is where we get more rumors. These good old boys claim they were invited to come and were welcomed by the police. Conversely, I heard that some cops thought their presence was ridiculous. A Democrat posted on FB that she called the Mayor's office about it and said the mayor claims he didn't want them. It may have been organized outside the city. Regardless, these wannabe citizen warrior assholes walked around pretending to protect liberty or freedumb or something. Mostly they just made themselves and the city look idiotic. Also, there wasn't any looting etc., just a few people holding signs.

The most comical part of this is that Republican state rep, and pompous ass, Jon Jacobsen wrote this moronic post on Facebook. Of course he deleted it when he got flack about it, but not before it was screen captured.
