Methuen HS student arrested after threatening to 'shoot up school'

METHUEN, Mass. —A Methuen High School junior was arrested after he threatened to "shoot up the school," police said Wednesday.
Police said they received a report Monday that the 16-year-old made a threat to another student, saying he was going to "shoot up the school" on Tuesday.
One of the teen's friends said she was concerned when he started making the threats verbally, in text messages and over social media, police said, and alerted officials.
Investigators searched two homes the student had access to and items related to the threats were recovered from one of them, police said.
