Say No New U.S.War on Iraq, Wed 6/18 5-6pm Lake St/Marshall Ave Bridge Minneapolis/St Paul
Dear Peacemakers,
I am writing to encourage you to come to the peace vigil on the Lake Street/ Marshall Avenue Bridge this coming Wednesday, June 18, to speak out against a new U.S. war in Iraq and to say No to U.S. weapons sales to Iraq.
Peace Vigil: No New U.S. War on Iraq
Wednesday, June 18th, 5:00 6:00 pm
Lake Street/Marshall Ave Bridge
NO NEW U.S. WAR ON IRAQ
NO BOMBING/DRONE STRIKES
NO INTERVENTION
NO WEAPONS SALES
It has become increasingly likely that the U.S. government will launch a new military intervention in Iraq. It is urgent that anti-war forces mobilize to tell the Obama administration that the people of this country oppose a new war on Iraq. It was the U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq that destroyed the country and brought about the current crisis. There is nothing the Pentagon can do with more air strikes and destruction to undo that or to bring about peace now. The people of Iraq must determine their own future.
Also, emergency protests will be held if the U.S. starts bombing. Urge your friends, co-workers, and family members to come to the vigil and to join additional protests as events unfold.
The weekly peace vigil is sponsored by the End War Committee of Women Against Military Madness and Twin Cities Peace Campaign. For more information: 612-275-2720 or 612-827-5364.
