NYC Woman Pays To Give Homeless Man Proper Burial

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A homeless man received a proper burial courtesy of a Manhattan woman.

Over the years, Juanita Vega developed a friendship with Richard Coleman, who was a fixture in her Upper East Side neighborhood.

Coleman died last month at the age of 62, and with no next of kin, he was to be buried in Potter’s Field, the city’s public cemetery.

Juanita reached out for Richard after his death, we all need more stories like this.

A random act of kindness.

Peace and Blessings,

On behalf of family of the late Richard Colelman- Stawder , we would like to express our gratitude and appreciation for the kindness shown byJuanita Vega, Tom Valek and the Krtil Funeral Home and Laura Bogdanski in caring for and burying our beloved Richie

His presence have been missing from our lives for 20plus years.

Richard was born Nov 8 1956 the son of Theresa (May) Coleman and the baby boy of 10 siblings. A father, an uncle, a brother and a friend to many that loved him deeply!

We as a family wish to continue his home going to the Ancestors with a memorial at the grave at a later date.

thank you to the news agencies and websites, without your reporting on the kindness of New Yorkers, we would never have known our loved one had passed on.

One luv
