How big will NYCFC be?

David Villa, one of the best-known soccer players in the world, has signed a contract with NYCFC, a club that has yet to play a game, or even form a roster.

The signing of Villa by NYCFC, the Major League Soccer expansion team that's due to begin play at Yankee Stadium ten months from now, is rumored to be followed shortly by the acquisition of another international standout, Frank Lampard.

What's clear is that this is massive news for the burgeoning presence of soccer in America its biggest market, New York.

Beyond that, though, is a series of big questions.
