State, Mid-Hudson trails become part of national trail system

ALBANY (AP) >> Federal officials have announced five new national recreation trails in New York as part of a nationwide recognition in 11 states in celebration of National Trails Day on Saturday.

The secretary of the Interior and the National Park Service director announced that the five trails designated in New York are:

• Genesee Valley Greenway State Park, an 84-mile corridor through 16 towns from Rochester to Allegany County on the Pennsylvania border;
