NYC's High Line park celebrates 5th anniversary

NEW YORK (AP) — The High Line is marking its fifth anniversary of providing one of New York City's more unusual public spaces: a park in a former freight rail line above Manhattan's streets.

The Friends of the High Line group is hosting a pie social Monday evening to mark the occasion.

The High Line runs for nearly two miles through Manhattan's meatpacking district and Chelsea neighborhoods. It uses an old elevated rail track that hasn't had trains running since 1980.
