Sen. Diane Savino says supporters won't be deterred by Gov. Cuomo's concerns about medical marijuana

Sen. Diane Savino apparently was not happy to read in today's Daily News the long list of conditions Gov. Cuomo wants met if he is to support a medical marijuana bill.

Savino, the Senate bill sponsor, took to Facebook to grouse about the leak while vowing to press on.

"Where I come from, you don't negotiate in the press," she wrote. "Leaks from the governor's office are an attempt to distract from the issue. The facts are many of his concerns are already addressed. We will not be dissuaded! Call the Governor, tell him to support the Compassionate Care Act!"

Here is an expanded version of my story in Monday's editions:

Gov. Cuomo has outlined a series of concerns to lawmakers that must be addressed before he'll even consider signing the bill to legalize medicinal marijuana in New York, the Daily News has learned.

Cuomo and legislative leaders began negotiations on a potential bill last week in hopes of reaching a deal before the legislative session concludes on Thursday. But administration officials Sunday said there are a host of conditions Cuomo told legislative leaders and the bill sponsors that he wants met, some of which others say could torpedo a possible deal.
