1 Dead After Small Plane Crashes In East Patchogue

EAST PATCHOGUE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — One person has been killed after a small plane crashed into the yard of a home on Long Island Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The plane went down around 9 a.m. near the side of a house on Camille Lane in East Patchogue and burst into flames, authorities said.

The fire damaged the house, but has since been put out, officials said. Photos from the scene posted on social media showed the wreckage burning next to a backyard play set.
