Cuomo: Bill would ease regs on breweries, wineries

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Monday an agreement with legislative leaders in the Senate and Assembly on a bill aimed at easing regulations on craft breweries, wineries, distilleries and cideries.

The legislation would increase the production cap on craft beverage producers, allowing them to produce more at lower fees.

It would also allow them to conduct tastings and sell by the bottle or glass on the premises, without a separate license, according to Cuomo.

Farm distilleries would be able to operate a retail outlet to offer tastings or sell bottles of liquor.
