NRCC Spending Heavily In New York

Nick Reisman

The National Republican Campaign Committee is investing nearly $3 million in TV ads for targeted Congressional races, picking a trio of battleground districts that are expected to be closely watched battles this fall.

The NRCC is spending $1.1 million in the first Congressional district with a cable buy.

The NY-1 is the site of a heated Republican primary between state Sen. Lee Zeldin and former SEC prosecutor George Demos, with the winner taking on Rep. Tim Bishop, a Democratic incumbent who Republicans have long sought to unseat.
