Skelos Says There’s A Cuomo Proposal On Teacher Evaluations

Nick Reisman

Senate Republican Leader Dean Skelos says Gov. Andrew Cuomo has a yet-to-be-seen proposal for changing the state’s teacher evaluation law in order to accommodate changes made to the roll out of the Common Core standards.

“Apparently the governor has a proposal of some sort, but we haven’t seen it,” Skelos told reporters.

Skelos joined Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver in his office for a luncheon reception with members of the New York Rangers hockey team, who lost the Stanley Cup Finals last week to the Los Angeles Kings.

Cuomo himself later appeared in Silver’s office for a photo opportunity, but declined to take extensive questions (He has a 2 p.m. news conference now scheduled).
