William J. Kemble,

ESOPUS >> Environmental group Scenic Hudson has paid $468,000 for a conservation easement for 80 acres off`U.S. Route 9W, near Floyd Ackert Road.

The group’s land conservation director, Seth McKee said the easement for the property, owned by David W. Hill, will held preserve scenic views on both sides of the Hudson River.

“It’s very visible from Route 9W and it’s very visible from the Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site across the river (in Hyde Park),” McKee said.
