“Seed to sale” system will help with medical marijuana issues, Cuomo says

Jon Campbell

The provisions of the state’s soon-to-be-enacted medical marijuana law will help alleviate “chain of custody” concerns, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday.

The bill, which Cuomo has pledged to sign into law, allows up to five private companies to grow the marijuana and operate up to 20 total dispensaries for the drug.

Cuomo said having one company overseeing the process from “seed to sale” will help keep the companies accountable.
