De Blasio: Fair pay may not mean price hikes, but if so, 'still worth it to create a more functional

Mayor de Blasio says his zeal for fighting economic inequality doesn't equate to "class warfare" -- and even if pushing companies to pay a fair wage might possibly spur a rise in consumer prices, "it's still worth it to create a more functional society."

De Blasio, in an interview aired early Wednesday on NPR's "Morning Edition," resurrected his "Tale of Two Cities" campaign theme in the framework of his new role as head of a new anti-inequality task force of the United States Conference of Mayors.

Hizzoner, who's joined in the initative by his counterparts in Boston, Philadelphia, and Houston, told NPR federal policies haven't kept up with the needs of the modern metropolis
