Rep. Charles Rangel doesn't understand why Mayor de Blasio, Rev. Sharpton did not endorse him

Rep. Charles Rangel doesn’t know why Mayor de Blasio and Rev. Al Sharpton didn’t back him in the congressional race -- but winners don’t have to care.

“The reasons that the Mayor did not endorse me or the reasons that Rev. Sharpton did not endorse me are so strange that I can have no animosity because I can’t figure it out,” he told radio host Geraldo Rivera. “I realize when you win you don’t have to figure it out.”

As of late Tuesday night, Mayor de Blasio had not phoned Rangel to congratulate him, a source said. His main challenger, State Sen. Adriano Espaillat Tuesday night said the race was "too close to call" and did not concede.
