McCall's SUNY chairmanship extended until 2021

The State University of New York announced that H. Carl McCall will retain his position as the chairman of the SUNY Board of Trustees.

Of the 18 members of the board of trustees, 15 are appointed by the Governor's Office and then subject to Senate approval. The other three board members are the president of the Student Assembly, president of the University Faculty Senate and president of the Faculty Council of Community Colleges.

McCall has served as chairman since October 2011, but his reappointment extends his term through June 30, 2021. The Senate confirmed Gov. Cuomo's nominees last Friday at the end of the legislative session.
