Gov. Gashole Makes Head of Envi. Protection into Part-Time Job, Appoints Aide w/o Envi. Experience

http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index.ssf/2013/03/part-time_dep_secretary_pennsy.html

So the hack that our illustrious Governor appointed as head of environmental protection has resigned. There were widespread rumors that he hoped Corbett would appoint him to the Supreme Court.

However, some wise people in our past decreed that a 2/3rds vote is needed in the Senate to confirm a Supreme Court nominee, and the Dems in the Senate have publicly said they are not voting for an overly partisan nominee to be the crucial swing vote on the Court.

Now, Corbett has appointed one of his aides to temporarily serve as head of the Dept. of Environmental Protection as a side job. As described in the article, the aide has no experience in environmental protection. I guess you don't need any specialized knowledge to rubber stamp fracking applications. The normal of way of handling this matter is to have a Deputy Secretary in the same dept. serve as acting head of a dept.

so I suppose that this just was the next expected move. I have gone up against the DEP many times, and I cannot figure out how they justify "Protection" in their name....and I have told them so.
