Texas Tea Party Trustee With History of Anti-Muslim Remarks Asked to Resign by CAIR and Others

A newly elected Tea Party trustee at Keller ISD apologized for calling it a "shame" that Southlake elected a Muslim member to its City Council.
Jo Lynn Haussmann posted on Facebook: "SOUTH LAKE - Do you realize because SO FEW voters took the time and responsibility to VOTE in the municipal elections - YOU NOW HAVE A 'MUSLIM' on the City Council!!! What A SHAME!!!!!"

Haussmann who herself only got 50.5% of the vote was endorsed by the right wing group Texans for Fiscal Responsibility who said, "She is well respected by state legislators and other local leaders."
