FORT WORTH U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz on Friday called on the grassroots army that swept him into office two years ago to again step up to help.
The issue now, he told thousands of Republicans attending the second day of their state party convention, is bringing back freedom and opportunity.
The only way we turn this country around is the American people, Cruz preached to the party faithful gathered at the Fort Worth Convention Center. It wont come from Washington.
What were doing is building a grassroots army ... of men and women who will say they will not go quietly into the night, he said while asking delegates and alternates to text his campaign to participate in the effort. We want our freedom back.

Why doesn't he go back where he came from? Go quietly into the night, across the northern border, back to where he belongs?
Huge *****snark***** and for the irony-impaired, mind you.

(16,071 posts)The same one that was used to betray Mexico and then again during the Civil War, when Texas betrayed the United States!
Isn't that what the Texicans used as a reason to betray their country, "freedom and opportunity"!
And then did it again when Texas joined the Confederacy during the Civil War, all about "freedom and opportunity"!
I find it hilarious that Texans voted for a Cuban, born in Canada...whose father fought for Castro...and whose only claim to American citizenship comes from his mother!
And we're all well versed in how Texas Republicans have shown themselves to be concerned about women's rights!

Problem solved.
