Classic mix up: Texas senator Dan Patrick and sportscaster Dan Patrick get mistaken for each other

Sportscaster Dan Patrick received a lot congratulations last week. His problem: they were for something he didn't do. A different Dan Patrick won the runoff in the Republican primary for lieutenant governor of Texas.

"I got a lot of emails congratulating me," the sportscaster said on his radio show last Wednesday. "Apparently I won the Republican candidacy for lieutenant governor of the great state of Texas. Got my picture on the local news in Houston. Not one but two TV stations had my picture up, saying that I had won. And then I realized it was the Texas state senator. I’m not that Dan Patrick.”

That Dan Patrick joined the sportscaster for an interview on the aptly named Dan Patrick Show.

"I get your email all the time," the sportscaster said. "They’re angry at you and I don’t know how to respond."

Would remind you of Rush Limbaugh at the sports desk. I did not like him then, have the unfortunate happening with him as representative of my district and have become less fond of this creature. I would expect him to be tolerant of other religions but typical RW bible thumper and openly disdainful of other religions. He advertizes he will shut down Texas borders but has used illegal employees in his businesses, forgot to timely pay his employee taxes. The best thing to happen to Texas is Democrat sweep this fall.
