Texas A&M medical school scaling back in Round Rock

A Texas A&M University medical campus in Round Rock will become a three-year institution rather than a full, four-year medical school, officials said Tuesday.

The change is being driven by plans to educate all of A&’s first-year medical students in Bryan-College Station, rather than spreading them across several locations in Texas, said Dr. Paul Ogden, interim dean of the College of Medicine.
