Texas woman's hair appointment at Austin salon leads to 'traumatic' allergic reaction



An Abilene woman paid for what she believed was an all-natural hair dying process at an Austin salon, but the “traumatic” transformation she was left with was more than she bargained for.

Chemese Armstrong, 34, is a “naturalistic” lifestyle blogger who is allergic to Paraphenylenediamine (PPD), a dark dye used in most hair colors, she explained in a YouTube video.

On March 5, she said she went to an Austin salon for a hair appointment using Henna products.

“I was told the Henna was all natural and chemical free but that wasn’t the case,” she described the situation on her YouTube post.
