Williamson County Democrats honor former Governor Mark White

The Williamson County Democratic Party will hold its inaugural awards dinner Thursday with former Texas Governor Mark White as special guest.

The organization plans to annually recognize a person who has “exhibited courage in serving the citizens of Texas” beginning with Mr. White, who served as the state’s 43rd governor from 1983 to 1987.

The award will be permanently named the “Governor Mark Wells White Courage in Service Award.”

The fundraising event is set from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fern Bluff Community Center at 7320 Wyoming Springs Drive in Round Rock. Former state Senator Leticia Van De Putte will be the keynote speaker.
