Seattle sports stars Wilson, Bird, Rapinoe named hosts for 2020 ESPYs
Seattle sports stars will be hosting this years reimagined ESPY Awards.
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, USWNT/OL Reign star Megan Rapinoe and Storm guard Sue Bird were announced Tuesday as moderators for next months ESPYs, which are being held virtually due to the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic.
The ESPYs take place June 21 at 6 p.m. PDT.
The ESPYS always have the distinct pleasure of recognizing moments of inspiration, but this year they serve the added purpose of creating a collective experience for fans and players alike who miss live sports, said Rob King, Senior Vice President and Editor-At-Large ESPN Content, in a press release. Part of the fun of The ESPYS is bringing together athletes from across a spectrum of sports and Sue, Megan and Russell represent a diverse lineup of teams. Were excited to see them bring their passion to hosting the show.
