Oops – ‘Harper Canada’ makes short-lived appearance

A news release from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency that was posted online carried the all-caps headline: “HARPER CANADA INVESTS IN INFRASTRUCTURE FOR MUNICIPALITY OF ARGYLE.”

Agency spokesman Alex Smith said it was simply an editing error, and was promptly corrected — to read “Harper government.”

Since 2010, rebranded government news releases have popped up with the controversial title “Harper government” instead of “Government of Canada.”

Some public servants have expressed discomfort with the term, and critics said the Conservatives were breaking rules that dictate government communications should be non-partisan.

Some good tweets from #HarperCanada

"Welcome to #HarperCanada! It's just like Canada, but less democratic and more Albertan."

"Oh #HarperCanada, our home and exploited land..."

"In Harper Canada, budget cuts you!"

"#HarperCanada is like "Canada" but without trees, lakes, rivers, atheists or Toronto."

right down to the nation that is using OUR oil to slaughter thousands upon thousands with that War Machine of theirs!

I think we should market our oil elsewhere . .

just sayin'

USA has HUGE reserves, and untapped oil wells - but they are wise in an evil way insomuch that they will use everyone else's oil for their War Machine, keeping years of oil in reserve should their outside suppliers run out.

sumthing to ponder . . . .

is that Canada has a strategic maple syrup reserve, but does not have its own strategic oil reserve.

It just re-enforces that Canada has always been nothing more than resource grab for the well connected, and otherwise a colony of hewers of wood, drawers of (now) tar, and occasionally suppliers of cannon fodder.
