Related: About this forumBest website to purchase tickets for UK trains?
I am helping someone who will be going to London this summer.
She will need to purchase train tickets and would like to purchase them before she leaves for London.
I found this website:
http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/
but have found websites for the individual train lines as well.
Any advice would be appreciated.
TIA.

(101,271 posts)3. There is also a rail pass available to overseas visitors

which may be good for her. Since residents can't buy one, I can't say from experience how it works out.

(12,778 posts)4. thanks for the info, but I don't think she needs the rail pass....
She will have a London travel card that allows her to travel in zones 1-6. That will get her to most things she plans to visit. However, if she wants to go outside of zones 1-6, she will need to purchase a rail ticket. Right now, there is only one place she plans to visit outside of zones 1-6, so I don't think the rail pass would be needed.
Thanks for the info, though.
