UK to re-open Iran embassy says Hague

Foreign Secretary William Hague has said he intends to re-open Britain's Embassy in the Iranian capital Tehran.

Mr Hague said the "circumstances were right" following an improvement in bilateral relations in recent months.

Full diplomatic relations with Iran were suspended after attacks on the British embassy in Iran in 2011.

The election of a new Iranian president and agreement on how to deal with Iran's nuclear programme has led to increased contacts in 2014.

people would say evil nation, isolate it. That's far from the case (now and then). Look, even in conflict states like South Sudan, there's a British Embassy but no American Embassy--pussycats. Even in North Korea, the most isolated nation (outside the conflict states), there's a British Embassy. Only if you buy the American logic of casting states and "evil" or "good" then you have embassies only with friends. Glad the UK isn't like that.
