Windows live mail

I hope I can explain this so it's understandable.

We have a desktop and a laptop, both running Win 7 IE11. Wireless connection from desktop to laptop.

When I read my emails on the desktop and delete it, it remains on the laptop and sometimes I have several hundred emails since we don't use the laptop everyday.

My husband reads his emails on the desktop and they delete off of the laptop.

I have checked all the settings and everything looks good but I don't understand why his will delete and mine won't.

If any of you that are much more computer literate than I am have any ideas I could try I'd appreciate your help.

in your local Mail client (Windows Live Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.)

There will be a setting for "Leave a copy of email on server". Make sure that is checked/enabled.

For Windows Live Mail:
Menu, Options, then Email accounts on the Toolbar.
Highlight your shared email account and click Properties.
Click the Advanced tab, then check the Leave a copy of messages on server checkbox.
You may want to uncheck the "Remove from server after...days" option.
Click OK to close the "Properties" window, then click Close to close the "Accounts" window.

If you do not check the "Leave copy on server," your client will download and delete the message from the server whenever it connects to your account.

Hope that works, we each have our own acct but it shared on windows live.

I had compared mine with his and it seemed to be the same except his would delete and mine wouldn't.

Thanks for your help, I tried looking on the web but really didn't know how to as a shorter question and still get my point across..
